Common Questions
Do you need to transfer my Mellon
HSA to Bank of America?
No, you can elect to keep your HSA at Mellon.  However, if you are enrolled in the Consumer Choice PPO Plan for 2008 you have an HSA with Bank of America.

If I leave my money in my HSA with Mellon are there any fees I will be responsible for?
If your Melon account balance is under $1,000 there is a $3.50 monthly fee.  If your Mellon account balance is over $1,000 there is no monthly fee.  (Note – Mellon reserves the right to adjust the monthly fee).

Is there a monthly fee if I transfer my HSA to Bank of America?
If enrolled in the Consumer Choice Plan – monthly fee is paid by Farm Credit.  If you elect to transfer your HSA to Bank of America and you are NOT enrolled in the Consumer Choice Plan the monthly fee is $4.50 (Bank of America will charge account owners a monthly fee regardless of account balance.)

If I transfer my HSA to Bank of America but I am not enrolled in the Consumer Choice Plan, but I do have a Health Care Flexible Spending Account will I receive another debit card?
No, you will only be issued one (1) debit card.  When you go to use your debit card, your health care FSA will be deducted first.

How do I use the HSA Cash Account to pay for day to day medical expenses?
You can access the funds in your account by use of a debit card or by electronic check or bill pay.

Debit Card:
When you open your account, you will receive up to two debit cards free of charge.  These cards can be issued in your name and in the name of anyone else who would need access to the funds in your account.

Electronic Check:  You can use this method to write a check to a provider or reimburse yourself for out-of-pocket expenses.
